Synergy University Dubai campus has successfully undergone an external audit conducted by the regulator KHDA. Independent international experts from the United States, France and Austria were involved in the assessment. The commission decided to extend the licence of the University’s branch without any remarks.
International experts held closed meetings with students and academic staff of the branch. The Chair of the Commission, Dr Warren Fox (USA), highlighted the high quality of education delivered at the branch, the excellent level of student preparation, as well as the professionalism and uniqueness of the academic staff. In addition, the experts noted the strong material and technical facilities of the branch, the presence of a library containing more than 5,000 volumes of scientific, educational and fiction literature for students, as well as a focus on the sustainable development of the campus and the principles of the green economy.
“Today, cooperation with friendly countries not only contributes to the provision of high-quality education that meets both Russian and international standards, but also creates bridges between cultures and nations. Educating students at Synergy University’s overseas campuses becomes an investment, including in strategic partnerships between countries, which over time will be built by students loyal to the region. This is not only a demonstration of international presence, but also an opportunity to stimulate the exchange of knowledge, cross-cultural and professional experience. I am confident that receiving a high international assessment will strengthen the reputation and position of Russian education on the global stage, opening new horizons for students and academic staff,” noted Synergy University Rector Artem Vasilyev.
As part of the audit, particular attention was paid to the work of the Careers Centre, which facilitates student internships in leading global companies, as well as to the large number of the branch’s key partners, including Google, IBM, Ernst & Young, Deloitte and others. During the presentation of the branch’s activities and achievements, Director of Synergy University in Dubai Ilya Melnichuk placed special emphasis on quality assurance mechanisms and the future development of the campus.
“The Synergy campus in Dubai is not only a place of study, but also a source of inspiration and opportunity. We strive to create centres of innovative education on its premises that will be in demand by modern corporations. In the near future, the branch plans to continue its effective development and remain for students a gateway to new horizons, inspiring discoveries and a successful future,” emphasised Ilya Melnichuk.
The event was also attended by Synergy University Academic Director Maksim Mikhailov and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elena Verkhovskaya. As part of the audit, they explained to the members of the commission the specifics of the successful interaction between Synergy University’s main campus and its branch in the Emirate of Dubai in matters relating to quality assurance in education.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is a regulator independent of the Dubai Ministry of Education, established in 2006 and responsible for raising the quality of education in nurseries, schools and universities to international standards. Each year, KHDA evaluates educational institutions and publishes ratings based on a five-point scale.
